Hi,
I am new to the Clan McAlister and fairly new to genealogy research. I believe that I am a descendent of the A16 line, Alexander McAllister. I am excited to learn more from the members and connect with other family members.

Hello cousins, I was researching my ancestor Col. Alexander McAlister and the family role in the revolutionary war, when I came across this site. I am about to find out which, Whig or Tory. My first hint has been the Colonel served in the NC Senate, so he was probably a Tory.
If anyone has reference please feel free to advise.
Alex

I have been researching the McAllister branch of my family. I've gone back to my 5x Great-grandfather (William) who was born in N. Ireland (I believe) and died in Salem, New Jersey. He was married to Susannah Peak.

This is all a major work in progress and I am so glad that I found this site. I do hope I am able to confirm much of the information that I've uncovered.

Looking forward to a continued relationship with this site. :)

I recently came across a copy of some family history and that has led me to this site. It has been very interesting and I have already been able to find information that my parents did not know about there families. Edward McCollister 1828-1905, would be my Great Great Grandfather, it looks like he emigrated from Scotland in 1885. This has been very interesting and I look forward to learning more of the families heritage.

I think I am from the Coll McAlister (1743-1793) who was married to Janet Buie - line. I have been working on tracing my family lines back to when they came to America. I am also a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution. Trying to find all my family ties there also.
Thank you.
