After 2 years of selling, he sold his business and retired, however he wanted to continue selling real estate one or two days a week. Now he tends his garden early in the morning and is often the first person in the office and last to leave, Monday through Saturday. "I came to OK Indian territory at the age of 5 in a covered wagon," he recalls. His Father and Uncle worked on the Humes Ranch. The family, which included his parents and a Sister, lived in a tent about a month before building a house. He obtained most of his education at Shawnee, OK where he later started work as a bookkeeper at a Wholesale Fruit Co. In 1913, he was at Tulsa OK. "If it rots, we sell it" was his slogan throughout his 27 years in the food business. In 1939, he says he and his wife spent their honeymoon at Crag O'Lea Resort in Pineville. The couple purchased 40 acres and built a home near Anderson, when he was going through his 2nd retirement.

His experience included ballooning, helicopters, and airplanes ranging from the smallest propeller powered ultra-lights to many of the largest four engine executive jets. The recognition acknowledged by the Colorado Aviation Historical Soc. was only the activities in which he was involved in Colorado. Prior to going to Colorado, he had been employed by the Federal Aviation Adm. with assignments in Minneapolis, Chicago, Lincoln, Neb, and a two-year assignment in Europe with the Dep. of State. They were stationed in Frankfurt, Germany attached to the Embassy. He traveled and worked in most every country of the free world during 1966-1968. Prior to that, he had worked as a flight instructor for the U.S. Air Force pilot training program.
